Established in 1994, Access Care is a long-established independent advisory service arranging carefully curated introductions between private households and experienced self-employed live-in carers across the United Kingdom.

We specialise in supporting families who value discretion, continuity and a more considered approach to care at home. Each arrangement is thoughtfully shaped around the individual, with careful attention given not only to care needs, but to personality, lifestyle, values and the natural rhythm of the household itself.

Our experienced team introduces live-in carers able to support with companionship, personal care, dementia care, rehabilitation, complex conditions, convalescence and longer-term care arrangements, enabling clients to remain safely and comfortably within the familiarity of home.

Many families come to us during periods of significant change — following hospital discharge, after a diagnosis, or when additional support has gradually become necessary. Others engage us proactively as part of longer-term planning for later life at home.

We are proud to combine national capability with regional familiarity, supporting clients across the UK while maintaining the personal, relationship-led approach upon which our reputation has been built over more than three decades.

As an independent family-run company, we believe arranging care should feel calm, reassuring and carefully guided from the outset. Our role is not simply to introduce carers, but to provide experienced guidance and thoughtful matching throughout the process.

”Access Care sorted everything quickly and professionally at a very difficult time for our family. The support and reassurance we received throughout was exceptional.”

“We have worked with Access Care for many years and have always found the team thoughtful, kind and highly professional. The continuity and quality of carers has made an enormous difference to our lives.”

Live-in care arrangements tailored to individual household needs. Typical live-in support is delivered across a 24-hour period with agreed daily rest breaks.

Access Care provided such amazing help after my Dad had a stroke. They supported my stepmum to work out what care was needed and then provided an amazing carer to work with them for three weeks who was like one of the family. We are so grateful for the support they gave us. Thanks

I used Access Care post op, having been recommended by a friend, for two months before Christmas. They provided me with a choice of carers (I had two in the end one after the other). I needed a driver so the choice was limited. However I was very happy with both and the way Access Care handled the changeover and extension of stay in one case. Both carers mixed well with my friends and attracted highly favourable comments. I would strongly recommend Access Care.

Two years ago, we contacted Access Care as we realised we needed a full time live-in carer for my elderly mother who was living with multiple myeloma and it was becoming more difficult for her to look after herself without any help. Access Care were extremely helpful right from the start and sent us lots choices of carers we could choose from. All the carers that have looked after my mother over the last two years have been amazing and when there was an emergency, Access Care were quick to act. Lou, in the office, was amazing and checked in with me more once a month to see how my mother was getting on. I couldn't recommend Access Care highly enough.

Access care were nothing but efficient and professional. They were so helpful when we needed emergency care for my parents who live in a very remote area of Scotland, providing us with a choice of carers at very short notice. We were extremely pleased with the carer that came during a very difficult time and highly recommend Access Care. All their administrative team are kind, helpful and responsive.

We found ourselves in an emergency situation with my Mum (who is living with dementia) became unwell. For a number of years, she had been living independently in her own home with a few hours of support most days. My sister went to stay and care for my Mum for three nights/days, but this wasn't going to be sustainable in the longer term. Between us (myself, two sisters and my Mum) we discussed the option of temporary, live-in care to provide a short-term solution whilst Mum regained her health. It soon became apparent that having someone there to assist Mum, making her regular meals and cups of tea, prompting her to take medication and generally giving her some TLC was making a big difference. After some more discussion with Mum, it was agreed that this should become a permanent arrangement. Mum was a little against this at first, as she missed her "alone" time. However, the two carers we've had from Access Care have been excellent - very different personalities, but with the same professional approach to caring for Mum and keeping her safe and happy. They are on hand when she needs them, but also ensures that she gets time to herself and privacy when needed. Some five months on, the arrangement is working well. Our family are very close and work together to make decisions. Our conversations always include Mum, and we ensure that we have her input and any anxieties she may have are addressed. Jo from Access Care checks in regularly by 'phone to ensure that everything is going well. If / when the carers need to change over or take a break from their caring duties, this is always handled with minimum disruption, with plenty of notice given and the agency keeping us fully apprised. Mum is never left on her own. The carers always spend time to conduct a "handover". I am certain that many care agencies could learn a thing or two about the way that Access Care operate their business - good communication is at the heart of this and the result is a stress-free care service which provides peace of mind.
